The K-flow probe is made of extruded aluminium. Its section has an aerodynamic shape and is divided into two separate chambers by an inclined wall.
Ps Static Pressure Pt Total Pressure The lower chamber is subject to total pressure, the upper one to static pressure. A differential pressure gauge measures the difference between the two and supplies dynamic pressure. Under highly turbulent conditions, the static pressure tubes may be positioned as appropriate within the area shown in dark grey If the probe is installed at a point where there is no strong turbulence, the position aligned with the pipe is correct. This ideal condition is rarely the case. It is therefore useful to adjust the inclination of the probe axis in relation to that of the pipe.
